Divide your room with curtains
A common issue in houses or flats, is having a large room that you want to turn into two smaller rooms.
However, converting a room can be a huge and expensive job, as not many people have the skills to do the building work, decorating and electrics themselves. This means employing professionals to carry the work out for you, which can prove to be very costly.
Depending on what the rooms are going to be used for, one great alternative is to separate the rooms with curtains. This works especially well when the two rooms have similar purposes; for example, they will be both be used as children’s bedrooms.

What kind of curtains to opt for
Firstly, think about what the purpose of the rooms is. If one of them requires privacy, this may not be the best option.
However, a curtain could be a good option to divide a lounge room and a dining room. For this purpose, you could choose a decorative, light curtain, as it would then act as a feature of the rooms.
Another common place that dividing curtains are used, are to separate the kitchen from the rest of the property. This is especially useful in a small flat, where you may not have a kitchen that is in a different room to the rest of the flat. Beaded curtains would be a good option here, as they will not absorb any smells from the kitchen.
Consider tips from this website too, such as making sure that the curtain looks the same on both sides and, whenever possible, choose curtains that can be taken down and washed from time to time.
